The study used both qualitative and quantitative methods. Besides the interviews with a cross- section of restaurant owners/managers, children associated with the restaurants, the study also used the survey method to collect the data from the varied locations of cities where the restaurants and eateries are situated densely. The data collection methods which were commonly used included in-depth and extended interviews, focused group discussion and observations of around 100 restaurants and eateries of the selected study sites. Here, the purpose was only to gain an opinion or impersonal description; but to encourage an explicit interpersonal dialogue where the respondent share details of their experience and explore their own experiences. Statistical methods were also used in order to analyze the quantitative data. The limitation of this study was that the researcher had to depend on the experiences of the children themselves, the key informants, and other secondary sources of information.
